Hi all,

when i am doing recording through aps & make a call from other phone on it then phone not ringing only two beeps play & phone looks in silent mode whereas phone is in general profile. whats the reason? what setting should i do?

Well, you're recording at the moment, do you really want to have a ringtone going on at that time?

yes i want phone should ring on that time if there is a incoming call.

Behavior that you are expecting was reported as bug and now it is fixed. Older APS played the audio in earpiece/loudspeaker during the call but In the new APS version they have fixed this and now audio will be played uplink.

Sorry, but that's not the way things happen.

The Audio Policy Server will determine what will happen when a new player/recorder object is initialised while another one is active. The decision is done based on each audio player/recorder's priority and preference values and the result may be:
a) new audio object pre-empts the existing one (e.g. ringtone stops music player)
b) new audio object cannot play/record until the current one completes (e.g. new call ringtone does not play while other call in progress)
c) the two audio objects are active at the same time and audio channels mixed (e.g. two music player applications of equal priority will play at the same time)

You are in case b). The APS is a component designed for VoIP developers, the recorder has just the right priority and preference values not to allow an incoming call to pre-empt it. And this makes a lot of sense for a VoIP application, obviously.

It all depends on what you're doing and why. Using a diferent priority/preference value for the recorder may solve your problem, but the right one must be found for the right use case. I recommend using Forum Nokia's technical support service to get this issue cleared.

yes i have changed various priority & preferences but no effect.Actually i only want that when i am doing recording through APS on a handset during this time if a call is place from other phone on it then phone should be ring.Its possible or not? if no then i will switch on other api because there is no need of call recording & playing a sound on telephony uplink generally APS is used for this purpose.
