Sending Vcards through sms/mms from python -

I am trying to send a Vcard through sms or mms from python. I tried the following options, exporting a vcard and sending as the text in a sms and mms as well as saving it with the extension .vcf and sending it as an attachment using the mms. But all this arribe at the other phone as text.
Any ideas?
