Hi there,

I would like to test a client/server app where the client should run in the SDK emulator (Nokia_S40_DP20_SDK_6230i) and the server on the same PC.
I was trying to get familiar with NCF but I think it is not very well explained.
A far as I understood, NCF enables the SDK to access the real bluetooth device (like bridging or something like that).

But this is not what I need. I need something like a virtual internal bluetooth device where my server app listens on (instead of the real one) and the SDK can access.

Is NCF the right tool for this ?
In the description, they also talk about server apps, but i could not find further (understandable) info on this topic.

If NCF will be the tool of my choice, I have a problem #2:
I have read the Howto in http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=85754, but they always talk about a USB bluetooth dongle.
My bluetooth device is internal, not USB, and when I install the NCF USB BT driver experimentally, my bluetooth device stops working. Even the Nokia PC Suite is unable to connect to my real phone while the NCF USB BT driver is installed. But do I need to configure a bluetooth device in NCF at all, if I only need some PC-internal connectivity ?

If NCF is not the right tool for providing this internal virtual connection, is there another one ?

Thanks and Regards,
Markus

Yes this is correct NCF installs its own driver. You just uninstall it when you dont want it. In NCF is a function to automatically install the driver.

If you need to talk internally you use the file
C:\Nokia\Tools\Nokia_Connectivity_Framework\examples\Example_BT_Environment.env which connects the two SDK's internally

instead of the file
C:\Nokia\Tools\Nokia_Connectivity_Framework\examples\Example_BTUSB_Environment.env
which connects via the BTUSB from the emulator to the phone.
