Hi,

Is there any way to check via Mobile Phone's User Agent profile for support for a Video Ringtone (or Video Ringer)?

e.g. if I look at Jamster's videotone section (http://www.jamster.co.uk/jcw/goto/ringtones/video-tones) it states supported mobile phones

(Video Ringtones work with the following mobiles :

Nokia- 3230 6233/6234 N-Gage 6280 6125 3660 3650 6630 7370 6260 5200 6681 7610 6300 7650 6600 6131 6288 6680 N-Gage QD 6670
SonyEricsson- W850i W710i Z610i K610i K800i Z710i V630i)

Are these determined by manual testing or there is some Automatic way of determining on the fly using UAProf?

Is there any resource available that can help in explaining which phone support 3GP Ringtones or vice versa?

Any help will be appreciated...

hi ,

For Nokia Models he might have developed symbian c++ app to play videoringtone where as for SE phones as per phone specs it is possible to set selected video as Videoringtone(Phone's feature)

Yes its a feature of the phones. But can we check if this feature is available in a certain phone by looking at it User Agent Profile (UAProf)? or is there any list of phones available that support Video Ringtones?

AFAIK UAProf is for knowing user agent and MIME types it supports and really don't know whether it will be there in this. There is no direct list avialable and you need to check each advanced phone whether it supports the same or not.
