Hi, i am trying to fix a bluetooth IDE harddrive that i can get access from a PC. Have some questions of how to accomplish this.
I can get an interface between IDE and USB is it possible to make a virtual link between the USB and the bluetooth on the PC side that i could define drivers for?
Do u have any more suggestions on how i can make this to work? Is there any other profile that fits my description?

Hi Ivan, Welcome to Bluetooth Forum Discussion

The obvious profile is obex. The IDE/USB is connected to the PC as normal and the bluetooth requests its files via obex. The WIDCOMM software has a obex file server built in so you can request files eg MP3 as long as you turn of all password requests in WIDCOMM and enable writing to file system.
Set file default file server drive to the IDE. The requests flow through bluetooth to WIDCOMM to IDE and data comes back to phone via obex.

see article on creating music server on obex

Good Luck,

Hi again, i think that u missunderstood my question. The hard drive has to be "stand alone" not connected to a PC. I have to use a bluetooth module together with the IDE interface. On the PC side i am just going to use a bluetooth stick to get acces to the harddrive and see the files.
The IDE to USB connection was just an exampel because i dont thinkt that a bluetooth module can handle IDE directly. So i wanted to convert IDE to USB and create a wireless USB link if possible?

I dont believe this is possible as bluetooth is simply a serial port replacement and the IDE needs intellegence to access the drive.

The only remote drive is a WIFI wireless 802.11G which could not work bluetooth
