In PyS60 you can try keypress module adapted by myself
There's versions for 1st and 2nd edition and one version for unsigned PyS60 because on 3rd edition you must have SwEvent cap
PyS60 selfsigned doesn't work with keypress !

Epired certificate problems can often be solved by setting the phone's date back. About a year might do it, if not, try setting it back even more.

And it would help if you told us how Open Signed doesn't work (problem with the site, error message etc.)

Anyway, see if keypress 1.06 works.

Downloaded keypress 1.06, compiled it for armv5 and emulator. In phone(5th Edition - N97), we were able to install it. However when we tried keypress.simulate_key(EKey1,EScancode1), we got WSERV 66 crash. SIS was signed with RND certificate. Also ensured that swEvent capability is present in signed sis.

In emulator, keypress didnt work.

Also, if there is any procedure for setting up keypress module for 1.9.7, that would be more helpful

Thanks in advance for any help

Things that were Tried are
TESTED SOLUTION1
----------------
Keypress 1.0.2/1.0.6 --Build that with PYs60 1.4.5
-Works on the Emulator and does not work on the N97
-Error Message WSERV 66
-Applied capabilities through mmp file [SwEvent] -Still WSERV 66 on device.

RESULT: TESTED SOLUTION -FAILED

Next Course of action

Going to upgrade to PyS60 1.9.7 on emulator and device. Then build it and Test it.
