Can anyone please post a tutorial on how to run an S60 python program in an emulator?

I've checkd out all forum.nokia.com, I've checked out the wiki, mobilenin also.

I've downloaded the C++ SDK for my mobile and also the Python SDK and installed them.

What else do I need to do?

All SDKs from Nokia deceived me. I installed Netbeans 5 + Mobility Pack and everything worked fine from the first try. Why can't Nokia software be like that?

If I don't manage to make the emulator work on my system, I'll switch to Java instead.

First of all,

Which SDK have you installed? With which version of PyS60?

I have an E50 phone.

I installed the C++ Symbian SDK 3rd edition, Maintenance Release.
In my phone I have Python 1.3.15 installed.

My Python SDK is PythonForS60_1_3_15_SDK_3rdEd_selfsigned.zip

When I installed it it wrote some subfolders in the epoc folder (if I remember well).

When I run the emulator it does NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Except eating memory. (I saw the epoc process in Task Manager)

What is the problem with theese things? I can't understand...

I mean it simply does nothing. No window opens.

I just see the process in task manager.

Sounds like your S60 C++ SDK installation or your OS installation is broken. Try reinstalling the SDK.

Random thought: Do you have a dualhead configuration? Could the emulator window be opening off-screen?

Ok, I'll try reinstalling the whole Windows. Maybe there's another program conflicting with this SDK.

There's nothing else that should be installed, right?

Thank you for your answer, jplauril.
