I have a nokia 6280 and i recently found out by someone on the 3 network that you can transfer files not just contacts like you can on samsung phones by going to settings, connectivity, data transfer, then into server synchronisation, on his 3 phone this is already setup. However on mine it says i need to contact the service provider for my settings which is vodafone, i've tried contacting these and they are useless at giving me what i need, i keep telling them over and over again exactly what i need the server synchronisation settings. And they keep telling me to contact nokia as they claim they don't hold the settings.
I've tried going into options and edit on the server synchronisation settings, where it gives me two other choices, which is Data to be synchronised, and Synchronisation settings, but when i try accessing these it still says i need to contact servicer provider for the settings. Can anyone PLEASE tell me where i can get these settings from? As i've said i've tried telling vodafone what i need and they are just not understanding what i am telling them and are getting the total wrong idea. There technical team just seems absolutely useless no matter how easy i explain it to them. Thanks if anyone can help me.

What do you want to do, actually?
The menu item you found there is related to the OMA SyncML DS technology. When you want to do a remote synchronization over the GSM/UMTS network with a OMA SyncML DS server, you have to add these settings manually in Nokia > Menu > Settings > Configuration > Personal configuration settings > New or Options > Add new > Synchronisation. When you want to do a local synchronize over Bluetooth or Infrared you could do this through adding a new setting manually in Nokia > Menu > Settings > Data transfer > Options > Add transfer contact. However normally, for local synchronization you use the free Nokia PC Suite on a Windows computer or the free Apple iSync on a Mac computer. When you just want to transfer a contact with another device like a mobile phone, you go to Nokia > Menu > Contacts > Names > open the to send contact > Options > Send buisness card. Do not cross-post in forums as this is no good behaviour, furthermore, this is a discussion board for developers. Choose the correct area for your question. I do not understand, why you have posted the other one in Java Networking and here in Bluetooth. The correct section would have been OMA DS. As end-consumer with a support related question, please contact Nokia support channels like the discussion board for end-consumers…

You mean browsing the other one‘s phone? No, this is not possible from a Nokia, at least I am not aware of one, yet. Sony Ericsson and Samsung allow this so lala. Not so stable, but it works. I would not allow it, as it rises a lot of security issues. Just push those files, that work even with Nokia.
