Hi, i want to put up a filserver on a laptop using bluetooth. I want to access it from another laptop in my home and transfer files.
What protocol do i have to use? Should i set up an OBEX server or a PAN(personal area network)? Would i be able to access it from an windows laptop? Any suggestions on how i do this. The server is running on a small computer 100mhz. I just need to start it up it would be just for file server use. Any suggestions and/or guids? |

How about, instead of using Bluetooth, you use Wi-Fi/WLAN; the range is bigger, it'll be faster, and the software already exists (comes built-in with most PC operating systems)?
In other words, what's the point in trying to do it over Bluetooth (I'm not sure the goal justifies the effort, when there are already better solutions)? If you still want to do it using Bluetooth, start with whatever APIs the PC operating systems you want to develop on, and the Bluetooth stack/drivers support for the Bluetooth adapters you have (OBEX can work, so can PAN, or just IP sockets over Bluetooth). As Nokia doesn't do any PC's, PC operating system, PC Bluetooth adapters or PC Bluetooth stacks/drivers, some other forum might also provide you with better results for youe questthan this one. |
