Hi,

does anybody know how to run J2ME application on a phone with BREW? The JVM (or QVM) must be compiled with JAR to produce BREW application, which can run on BREW phones? Where I can find this JVM for BREW? Or the JVM must be put in the phone by the manufacturer? Is there any way how to run J2ME application when the manufacturer did not put the JVM into BREW phone?

Thanks for any hint,

Marek

PS:
I know there are several threads about this topic in these forums, but none of them contain the information I need. I also searched the Qualcomm's forums with no satisfying result.

Hi maara! Welcome to Nokia Discussion Boards!!:)

You dont need to convert a JAR to a BREW app to run on BREW phones. You can run JAR on BREW phones if the phones support Java applications. For eg: Nokia 6275 http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/6275 , It does support Brew and Java apps as well.

Please mention which phones you are talking about. If the firmware and hardware does not support a JVM (KVM), I guess its not possible to run a J2ME application in it.

Regards
Gopal

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I did not have any particular phone on my mind. Our company just finished Java application and we wanted to know if there is an "easy" way how to make it available on more phones.

If the target phone does not support Java, but only BREW, you have to port your Java app to BREW. There are some docs on porting Java app to BREW. Please give a try with Googling. And also have a look at http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/reso...ing/index.html
