My enviroment is eclips + carbide.j + s60_3rd_fp1.
I found the default emulator in s60_3rd_fp1 does NOT support any video types in its mmapi library. While, in the WTK2.2, video/mpeg is supported, but only mpeg1 is ok.
I'm looking for any s60(or s40) device sdk with emultor supported video/mpeg4. Does Nokia develop such SDKs?

Hi,
I believe the reason that mpeg4 is not supported in SDK is a licensing issue. The vendor must pay for the ability to use and read the mpeg4 format.
Nokia know how many phones have been sold and therefore how much license costs to pay, but Nokia does not keep records on how many SDK are in use and dont want to pay for them. Many other products sell the MP4 as an extension, but there would be little point as point of sale costs would be too high.

The 3gpp format is available in SDKs.
