I am creating a mp3 player and am trying to code the play button which will allow me to chose a file from the phone's storage. However so far i have been unable to do so, can somebody please assist me in this?
Basically, when the play button is clicked on, it should allow me to look for the file on the phone.
Also, how can i display the tags for the mp3 file, such as song name, duration and time elapsed?

A file browser to list out the audio files stored in the phone is required. The links in this blog will help you to implement file connection (JSR 75).

Just to add what others said, For playing sound files your phone needs support for JSR 135 MMAPI and accessing the FileSystem needs support for JSR 75 FileConnection.
