hey i can run .py in phone itself
but is it possible to use emulator ( or to run this script in pc ) i havw downloaded python for series sdk but how to execute / run this .py ??

Welcome to Forum nokia. Yes you can sure use the imulator in PC for that you have to download the python for series 60 in pc. Please have a look at it http://www.mobilenin.com/pys60/how_t...s60_script.php

If you want to run scripts in emulator, you need to do the followings:

• For 2nd edition:
  • Install the sdk version you need (2ndEd, 2ndEdFP2, 2ndEdFP3) from http://forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia...16-3.0-mr.html
  • Then download and unzip the matching PyS60 version from http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=154155
  • Copy the unzipped files on the corresponding folder in C:\Symbian\yourSDKversion\...
  • Python scripts go in C:\Symbian\8.XX\S60_2nd_XXX\epoc32\release\wins\udeb\z\system\APPS\python
  • Python libraries and DLL in C:\Symbian\8.XX\S60_2nd_XXX\epoc32\release\wins\udeb\z\system\Libs
• For 3rd edition:
  • Install the maintenance release version!
  • Then download and install PyS60 like above
  • Python scripts go in C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd_MR\Epoc32\winscw\c\python
  • Python libraries in C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd_MR\Epoc32\winscw\c\resource
  • C++ libraries (DLL) in C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd_MR\Epoc32\winscw\c\sys\bin

Hey, still having some troubles with Emulator.

I did all this:
For 2nd edition, FP3:

But when I start the emulator and do "Open File" it does not support Python files.
In the Applications Menu of the emulator, there is no Python icon.

What am I doing wrong?

Your SDK path is probably:
C:\symbian\8.1a\S60_2nd_FP3
and it has epoc32 folder.

Get PythonForS60_1_3_22_SDK_2ndEdFP3.zip from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=171153
Unzip packet and packet inside it, so that, in packet, files under epoc32 folder goes to the C:\symbian\8.1a\S60_2nd_FP3\epoc32

Run emulator, and Python icon should be in main menu.

It's all working smooth now. I got confused because of the mirror
Epoc32 directory in the python SDK zip.
