Hi all,
I am working on testing my application to be signed by JavaVerified. My doubt is that my application once will be signed, will be able to be installed on any device or group of devices, or won't. I don't know if I have to sign that once by type of device (brand and model), once by brand, only once... Please any help. |

The Java Verified testing is done for one device group at one time. So if you will be selling your application for a number of devices you should test it against all target devices (or all the device groups containing the target devices).
The Java Verified certificate is same on all of the phones though. So once it gets signed with this UTI root, it can be installed on all phones containing the certificate. Hartti |

I have understood that we have to send different jar files for every type of devices, no? So isn't possible to send the same jar file for two types of devices?
We are testing the application in Nokia N91, N80, E61 and N95, so we should to send four times different jar files, because all them are in different groups of devices... At this way all devices of its groups would support the signed jar files, no? Our doubt is that if it is not possible to send a jar file and be signed for all devices. |

Any help please! Anyone who has sent an application to JavaVerified!

Hi felixksp,
I think that the answer provided by Hartti is very informative, just read it once again and make sure you understand it right. Pay attention to what he tells you regarding device groups. You can get more information by checking the links below and also by contacting them directly (check the FAQ for directions). I understand it.
But I am confused in by that sentence: "The Java Verified certificate is same on all of the phones though. So once it gets signed with this UTI root, it can be installed on all phones containing the certificate." What sense has to sign the application once by group, if signing it for one group it can be installed on any device? |

Hi felixksp,
Besides availability of UTI certificate, there are other factors you must take into consideration, such as screen sizes, configurations, profiles, optional packages and so on. That is why we have device groups and lead devices afaik. Take a look at the link below: http://www.javaverified.com/supp_devices.jsp Hope this helps :) Juarez Alvares Barbosa Junior - Brazil |

Yes I know it. In spite of these limitations, our doubts were that if we sign the application for N91, the same application will work in a N95, being the two in different groups. Doesn't it?
Finally we have decide to sign it first of all for Nokia 95 (3rd edition FP1). After signing the application, I will give some comments on the forum about my experiences in that... Thank you. |
