from the manual (i havent tried it as i have no need!) u can use the 7650 as a modem for your pc over IR.
well, i have ADSL so i have no need of this. Cracking option though! no, what i wasnt to do is have my 7650 talking to my pc over bluetooth and it using my PC's internet connection for wap surfing, so i dont need to pay hugely over inflated internet costs for my phone ! any way to do this? ive set my pc to share the net connection with the local are connection which is the bluetooth. but i guess i would have to tell the phone to use the bluetooth for a data access point. possible? |

Dial-Up Networking Profile (DUN) is implemented in a phone (or a modem) as Gateway. In PC the DUN is implemented as Data Terminal. You can find further information on these roles i the Bluetooth v1.1 Profiles specification at www.bluetooth.com.
The usage of roles mean the use case you mentioned in not possible. Your use case would be better mapping to WAP over Bluetooth. It is not implemented in current Nokia phones. In the future the Personal Area Networking Profile (PAN) would be a sensible way to use WAP over Bluetooth services. The PC would of course need WAP gateway functionality in this case. I want to do exactly the same, have posted similar question about PAN in Bluetooth Tools & SDKs. But how the hell can this be achieved
