Dears, I'm trying to use Gnubox with a Linux system (Debian) without any success. I plug my bluetooth USB adapter and follows these sites "http://web.singnet.com.sg/~kinston/Bluetooth%20Internet.htm" to configure my cellphone and these "http://www.michelem.org/2006/03/29/nokia-n70-e-gnubox-surf-the-web/" to configure my desktop. Anyone know if these configurations are correct? When I do "Bring up IF" nothing occurs, the gnubox program stops responding and I seem the bluetoothd icon on gnome panel shows conecteded. When I try enter in some website my cellphone shows "Connecting with Bt" and nothing happens. The file ctest.txt shows:
123456Error = 0 78 Error = -36 |

There could be any number of things wrong here, starting from not having pppd installed, to not running as root, to the devices not being paired.... I think you need to be a bit more specific.

Ok, I think that the problem is with computer services. It seems to me the cellphone cannot establish the connection. What services I have to start? I'm doind only this:
# sdptool add --channel=4 SP # dund --listen --channel 4 --msdun noauth 192.168.1.3:192.168.1.5 crtscts 115200 ms-dns 200.175.89.139 # /etc/init.d/kannel restart # rfcomm bind 4 00:19:2D:5B E:33 5and nothing more. I have to do some other step? On the cellphone I have to select "Serial port" or "LAN Access server"? On computer, there is some place that I can see the logs? |

The rfcomm bind is unnecessary, the phone will initiate an rfcomm connection to the PC, that's what the sdp advertisement is about. This could be what is causing your problem.
hcid and sdpd ought to be running, and the rfcomm module and the correct hci module to drive your bluetooth device ought to be loaded (oh, and you ought to be selecting "serial port", the other option refers to pan, which bluez can do also) Get Resolvr - The Zeroconf framework for Symbian OS free today. Ok, hcid, sdpd get running with "/etc/init.d/bluetooth start" and rfcomm are loaded with this command too. My hci_usb is loaded. What more I have to do? There is some test with I can do? In "# sdptool add --channel=4 SP" and "dund....." I'm using the channel 4, but I'm not sure about this, how can I discover it? In some places are used the command "echo x > /dev/rfcommX", but I didn't understand because of what it is necessary.

Having the exact same problem with my nokia n95 and Slackware 12. If anyone can offer any help, we'd surely appreciate it.
What is pppd used for? I've got a cable internet connection i'm trying to NAT to the phone, do I need pppd anyways? |
