Hello. Ive seen in other discussions that it is not possible to send pure MMS over Bluetooth, but it is necessary to split it and send the components separately instead. In that case, which BT profile would be required to transport the components: OBEX, File Transfer,...? How can we instruct the phone to play the MMS after all parts have been downloaded? Is it necessary to develop specific software for the handset in order to make this functionality possible (i.e. receive MMS parts)?
Thank you very much. |

For phone users the only way to forward MMSes via Bluetooth is to send the components separately.
However, a developer can get access to messages through client MTMs of Series 60 SDK. So basically it is possible to develop an application that accesses e.g. MMSes and sends them to another device. It is then maybe the responsiblity of the receiving device (a specific application?) to parse the components together and show them as a message. The message parts could be sent via RFCOMM ('point to point', i.e. serial port emulation) or OBEX (Object Push). See the Bluetooth examples in the Series 60 SDK for further information.
