Hi,
I'm trying to simulate a bluetooth connexion between nokia and ericsson emulators, but it doesn't work. With two nokia emulators, and NCF running, the bluetooth connexion occured and data can be transferred between them. With two ericsson emulator, it's the same. But with a nokia and ericsson emulator, searchDevice find anything. Is it a way to simulate my application between a nokia and ericsson device without buying one of them? Thx in advance for any help. |

Welcome to Forum Nokia Developer Bluetooth discussion.
The way to test this without buying the devices is to use the Sun CLDC tookit, previously called the Wireless Tookit version 2.5 This will run both Nokia and erricsion java apps and simulate bluetooth with jsr82 support. download from http://java.sun.com/products/sjwtool...nload-2_5.html Good Luck Jim |

Thx Jim for your reply.
FYI, I'm using Netbeans to develop and test my application. Like the Sun Wireless Tookit , with Netbeans I can run Nokia and Ericsson emulator in the same times (I m using yet the Nokia S40 emulator). To be sure that i m well understood, I just want to say that with two nokia emulator running at the same time, bluetooth connectivity is etablished between the two nokia emulators without any issues because of NCF. And with two ericsson emulator running at the same time, it's working great too (without NCF of course). But under Netbean, when I run in first the nokia emulator which need NCF for activate bluetooth connexion, and in second time an ericsson emulator, any of them can't discover each other via bluetooth. So, if I well understood your answer, if i do exactly the same thing but under the Sun Wireless Toolkit, it's going to work ie nokia emulator can discover ericsson emulator? I'm at work now, but i'm going to test your solution after work and i will let you know. PS: If i'm rigth Nokia emulator needs NCF running to simulate bluetooth connectivity. Because I'm always running NCF when I want to use Nokia emulator. Thx again |

Ok so what i did is the following:
1. build my application and create a package with the Sun CLDC tookit. 2. I run the Nokia Connectivity Framework. 3. I run my application just builded in step 1 with nokia emulator SDK S40. 4. I run my application just builded in step 1 with sony ericsson emulator (K750) But it doesn't work. these two emulatos can't find each other. If in step 4, I run my application with another nokia emulator SDK S40 it works. Or If in step 3, I run my application with another sony ericsson emulator it works. So my question is the following: nokia emulator can simulate bluetooth connectivity only with others nokia emulators? I suspect the Nokia Connectivity Framework to limit the bluetooth connectivity simulation to only nokia emulator. if not, can someone help me to simulate this case. Thx again for your help |
