I plan to do a project on location based services using gps. i have a nokia 6708 which i plan to couple with a bluetooth enabled gps device( please suggest a device that is compatible with 6708, nokia e90). the device is supposed to feed in co-ordinates to the phone and the phone in return shows the current position on a map.

Can anyone please guide me with this project? Has anyone done such a project before?

Hi,

You should make a Bluetooth connection between the gps recever and the phone. Using this the phone will read NMEA sentences(GPS data) from the receiver. You should parse that to get the location parameters. For that this link will help you

Developing a location based application is not an easy job, especially for a college or university project. Here is a thread I found earlier, should be able to help on you guys' projects:

It should help to cut down the development cost and save the bandwidth to be used for the GPS application.
