We are working on a camera application and have some problem in N73.

* There is a delay about 1.5 seconds during snap. If the user moves the phone after the snap within 1.5 second, then the captured image is different. There is no such delay in nokia 6600 which is quiet an old phone.

We are simply calling the getSnapShot() when the user selects the "snap" command in a seperate thread. There is no other process there. Is there any solution for this? Did anybody experience the same problem?

* Always the flash is on

First we thought that the delay is caused by the flash and found no way to turn it off. In motorola iDEN phones, we pass "flash=on" to the getSnapShot() to turn the flash on. Is there any similar trick to turn off the flash in N73? We tried passing "flash=off" and it failed to capture the image.

Hope somebody here can help.

Thanks in advance.

About the lag:
Have you tried taking a little smaller picture than what the snapshot returns by default? (6600 picture resolution from Java is quite low, that might explain it being faster)

About the flash.
Not possible to turn it off from a MIDlet on N73

Thanks for the reply hartti.

We use a resolution of 320x240 (same for 6600). But, there is no such delay in 6600 though it is an old model. N73 being a new phone, it should have better performance than 6600.

Is it usual for the N73 or something in our application causes this delay? Could somebody confirm this?

Do anybody experienced this issue on their N73?

Are you really getting a 320x240 image out of 6600, or is it only 160x120 (6600 is an old phone, so I do not remember exactly, but the max image resolution for MIDlets on 6600 was very low)?
N73 should have better resolution and the difference might explain this issue...
