What triggers a player to finish prefetch()? -

I'm playing a wav-file over the network through a inputstream. But the player is halting on the prefetch() function. Does anyone know what triggers the player to leave the prefetch()-funktion.
I'm developing on a Nokia N73.

As i understand prefetch will get access all the resources neede to play your file. Thanks Soku
