Good morning every body,
I'm a computer science student at my last year and I'm preparing to my final year project. I'm thinking about LBS. but I hope some questions and I hope you help me to find answers for them. What kind of phones that can be used in such applications., i.e, is N73 or N70 suitable ? Is there specific services that must be provided from the operator to be able to run such applications ? Waiting for your reply ![]() Thanks in advance, Moustafa Farid |

Are you planning with J2ME or Symbian C++? N73 is an S60 3rd edition device where as N70 is an S60 2nd edition device. You have to sign your application to get it installed on N73, rather for any S60 3rd edition device. Whereas for N72, S60 2nd FP3 device, signing is not mandatory. Kiran. |

Thanx for reply.
we are planning to work with Symbian C++ and we have downloaded the crabide and symbian sdk. we also planning to make a navigation application where the visitor of Cairo City can see the map of his current locations indicating all points of interest around him (Restaurants, gas stations, etc.) I think it may be useful for tourists visting Cairo. but I'm wondering how can we get the exact location of user ??? I've read that there are 3 ways of positioning ( satellite, network based, and local) I guess network based will be our choice, but is this service available from all operators ? Sorry If I have been asking alot , but we really need your help and appreciate it .
