Hi All,
I am looking to invest into an E90. Does anybody know if the python api to the camera support all the features (especially interested in the Autofocus)? Thanks a bunch... Raf |

![]() E90 like E95 are device with autofocus but last version doesn't offer to support the autofocus ![]() But Python support many camera features. I advice you to look at these in the documentation file at camera module part. BR Cyke64 pys60 1.4.5,1.9.7,pygame,PyS60 CE on E90 , N810 with Python 2.5.2 and ... last PyS60 1.9.7 with touch ui on 5800 ! pys60 extension modules on http://cyke64.googlepages.com/ |

Thanks for the response. I have been going through the documentation and message boards for the last few days and thats why I posted the question.
Since the Python camera module does not support autofocus does any body know of a workaround that would allow a python application use the full capabilities of a E90 or N95 camera? Is there a C++ module available and does it support the full capabilities? Any info would be greatly appretiated. Raf |

raf, be carefull !
It's far more dangerous. The N95 even don't have all the resolution available. The max I have is (1024x768) I started a topic on that : http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=121612 They found a solution in C++, but I don't know if it's available in python. http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=106187 The N73 seems to have the same problem http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=121392 But any way the autofocus is acting in background (even if you can't controle it) : You can hear it and the pics are OK. But it's also much slower in comparison with the other devices I experienced. We can not have all, but the pic resolution issue is for me a much bigger issue ! |

Oups... I was to fast in my apprication.
The autofocus don't work for me as I said. I though it was, because of the noice and delay. But I made test on close objects with standard native app and python code, and there was a big difference between the pics ! Any way, have good news on the other problem : Otsov solved the problem of access to higher resolution pictures. You can go up to (1600, 1200) in portrait mode And up to max resolution in landscape mode. To see the code look at these thread : http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=121612 Thanks to otsov :-) |
