I have tryed to install the software (appropriate for the os version) into sansung sgh-i550 but the installation report to me the error "Invalid Certificate, contact the software vendor ..".

The same message appers when i install other nokia software like sorts tracker.

Someone can help me.
I didn't understand if this software it is really free or working only into nokia devices.

The installation file is, presumably, signed with the "Nokia Content Signing CA" certificate.

Samsung phones will not have the required root cert installed, and cannot install Nokia signed content.

In other words, you need to recompile and sign it it yourself, or have Samsung sign it, or have Nokia sign it via Symbian Signed.

I received some complaints of Samsung SGH-i550 and SGH-i560 users that they can't install the PyS60 runtime (1.4.2) due to an 'Invalid certificate'. Can anyone confirm that this issue occurs because the runtime files are signed with a Nokia specific certificate which restricts installation to Nokia devices?

Hello to everyone,

I have the same problem, SGH-i550.
I tryed to get a certificate from "symbian signed.com".
But I don´t get one, I do not have a publisher ID.
This onlinetool doesn't work also. Sorry but that is a mess,
it can't be true: You can not install python because it is a Samsung.

please, does someone has an idea?

Robert

The problems with signing Python with symbian signed (open signed) will be solved in the next release.

I'm not sure if I understand all the details of platform security...
- Can only unsigned files be 'open signed'?
- No unsigned freedevcert version of the current PyS60 release is published on sourceforge.net. Do I have to compile it from source? Or has anyone else published an unsigned version of the 1.4.2 runtime SIS?
- Could such an unsigned build of PyS60 be 'open signed'?
