Alright, I'm completely knew to programming so here is my issue. I've downloaded MacPython 2.5.1 and am following the tutorial Byte of Python. There comes a section in the tutorial in regards to choosing an editor. I've got IDLE downloaded so I've got an editor. Got it, understand so far. Then this dude starts talking about opening the editor (which I've done), typing print 'Hello World' and saving it as helloworld.py. Did that, great. Now he says to open a shell and simply type python helloworld.py. Guess What? I get and invalid syntax error. Can anyone tell me why? Do I need to save this file someplace in particular in order for the interpreter to execute the program. Somehow, this genius in his attempt to write an "easy to follow tutorial" fails to go into any detail regarding this. Furthermore I guess he doesn't check his e-mail.

Can anyone help me out as to what I'm doing wrong?'

Hello lrp18th and welcome to the forum

This forum is related to Python for S60 which is meant for mobile application development. Your question is related to core python and not python for S60.

Also there are many tutorials on Python as well as Python for S60. If your are not satisfied with one then you can definitely use another one.Youy have many options.Just google a bit!
