Hi there

I want to be able to serve WAP content from my own server (Not connected to the Net)
The way I see it, I'll need the following:
Server(With all the installed software, WEB server, WAP server) and a RAS connection set up to a GSM modem.

The User then dials up to the GSM modem and can(providing everything is set-up correctly) access my content.

Am I totally in the wrong here?.
What I am worried about is that I got this all wrong.
I mean can the user connect to my server via a GSM modem and a RAS connection?. Or do I need to get some special GSM-to-TCP/IP software/hardware?..

You need:
1. WEB SERVER (NT, UNIX, LINUX, etc)
2. DIAL UP SERVER
use ORDINARY telephone line and modem. to test, try connecting to it with another PC that you use for Internet. If it connects and authenticate, you are set up
3. WAP Server

You do not need a GSM MODEM for the RAS. ANY telephone (ISDN, E1-R2, PSTN) will do so long as it is capable of modem modem connection.

I've got a demo system running on a laptop. Nokia 6130 connected to the serial port. Windows 98 with dialup server installed. Running the audicode wap gateway and Xitami web server.
My 7110 dials the data number of the 6130. Dialup server handles the call and sets up the PPP connection.
Took a bit of doing but works great now.
