I wrote an map application using the location api and it works just fine under the wireless toolkit 2.2 emulators.

After a few tweaks i got it working in the s60 emulator bar one small problem.

I cannot for love nor money get the damned Simulation PSY to build a .nme file containing coordinates that have a negative longitude (i.e -1.4533...) and a positive latitude (i.e. 50.8923..) I can get other combinations just fine (both positive or both negative) but not one of each.

Am i being a bit of a dummy and missing something here, its really frustrating (as to get my app working the coordinates must be correct).

Any help will be muchos appreciated.

I can not give positive values for latitude and negative values for longtitude.

Are you getting coordinates from the Wester and Southern hemispheres? If so those are the most negative values you can get.

See the image below:

Notice the negative values in the scaling coordinates as well as the coordinates of the last plot? They contain negative values however, -20 left means in fact 20,00W while -20 bottom means 20,00S.

The corresponding NMEA file shows also only positive values as they are mapped in the corresponding hemispheres.

Hmm, the tool does seem to reverse the E and W hemispheres. Well, small detail

it is a big problem for me, i am getting like -170s and so weird values. and there is no way for me to test my application live, cause it is multiplayer app and needs like 5 or 6 device go collect necessary info for me.

tool acts like it takes the plot area and wraps it all over a sphere shape.

i have test my project on WTK its ok, but i have to test it S60 SDK? it really feels so unlucky and funny at the same time to getting stucked because of this kind of simple detail

does anyone test the other versions of the tools? they were like this from beginning and nobody realized? i mean, really?

and finally! plz help! what should i do?

yea, of course;

here is the picture1,

you can see that it must start from -6 something from left and go all the way with -6 something to the right. but as you can see from picture 1 and 2 it decreses until -179.9999 (yes true) to the middle of the plot, and after that it swiches to positive number 179.999 then start to decrease as you move to the right and come back again to minus numbers until -6

its goes like that from left to right:

(left)-6.etc->decrease until -179->(middle of plot)-reached to 180 degrees; so tool switches from (minus)179.9 to (plus)179.9->start from 179 and decrease until zero and then to minus values-> -6.etc(right)

so the right most and left most of the plot have the true values but any other point you get from plot is wrong...

i know its been a long msg. but i think it must be clear after this.Thanks Itomuto also.

edit: i realized that, when i switch the values for left and right values i got the true values for the points in the plot, but it makes no sense as long as you write left value as right and right value as left.

As for the fix timeframe that is not easy to predict as it depends on the prosperity/severity assigned to the problem and obviously the workload of the responsible R&D teams.
