Another addition to the seemingly endless list of complaints to Nokia, who is seemingly deaf to what its (potential) customers need and want (which, for obvious reasons) should be the one and only thing a company is interested in.
Okay, on to the issue. I have Windows XP Home and an Epox USB BT dongle, the dongle sees and connects to my 6310 without any problems, set it up to use COM3 too, no problems, phone sees PC and vice versa. Now I downloaded the PC suite version 4.82 build 3 which seems to install correctly, it even installs Bluetooth (hurrah, I thought). However, trying to use BT as a connection source through the Connection Manager results in an error message. No problem (I still thought) it is set to use COM3 via BT so I set the Connection manager to look at COM3, nogo, Connection manager just hangs. Now I am looking at my new and shiny 6310 and at my long, looooooooooong list of contacts that needs adding and than I can not help but thinking.... "Those guys at Nokia probably took lessons from Microsoft". Nokia, come on guys, be real and adhere to the standard that Bluetooth is supposed to be, listen to your customers who, like me, bought your products because of things like Bluetooth. It cant be so hard for you guys to change a couple of lines of code to make your PC suite work together with BT connection devices that adhere to the BT standards........ If you dont, please strike words like customer loyalty, quality, customer awareness, service and such from your vocabulary, because they are merely hollow phrases. Erik Schulp Schulp ICT Services |
