Is it possible to develop application to play avi and mpg file? -

Hello
Can a java application be developed to play avi and mpg files in S40 phones? Pls enlighten me on this issue. It seems no video players in java have such capabalities. Thank You.

The information points to 3gp converters...so avi and mpeg cannot be played directly on a S40 phone using 3rd party applications.....
