Help needed for wap gprs -

Hi to all i am new to python . Now i am trying to developed the file downloade using python script . But if i have direct internet connection means i am able to download the file but where there is no direct internet connection only wap connection means how to download ....when i am using wap connection i need to use proxy and port for connection to the internet so how to use proxy and port in downloade script ....
