You might have seen many a times that mobile phones display the information of where you are like if you are in "New Delhi" and you are at "Park Street" your mobile phone does display "Park Street" on the main screen just below where it shows which operator you have subscribed with like "Vodafone", this is information that is conveyed to mobile phone by the Mobile operator setup tower.

Can i access this string/information by PyS60 since this must be stored in some variable in Symbian OS?

Yes. It's probably mobile network cell based information. You cannot peek any Symbian variables in memory diractly, but you can use location module which is a standard module in PyS60.

location module just contains gsm_location() which doesn't give the required information which i am talking about, as far as i know.
