Hi,
I've created this thread in case anyone wants to discuss my blog post: http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/blog/ma...are-foundation So please do! As a quick addition I realise I'm only covering open source software here, not freeware. I'd be interested to know what reasons closed source freeware developers have for not opening up their source code? If it's because they want to release commercial versions also then they can pay for their own testing/signing (or use CellMania) as far as I'm concerned! However, if anyone has a good reason other than that I'd be interested in working out a way to involve them too. Some more questions for debate: Does anyone think license compatibility issues would be a big problem? Are there any licenses already out there that could work for applications that don't allow commercial distribution? Have you got any better ideas to make open source work on mobile platforms? Are there any tools or services you think are needed to encourage open source development on mobile platforms? Sorcery |
