is there any way to measure the power of the Bluetooth signal received from other device by software ?

all i need to calculate the distance between 2 mobiles using bluetooth technology !! i found some equations for this but it use the power in its calculation !!! if u need them u can mail me @ : eng.juneide@gmail.com do u have any other way to solve this ???

At least there is power control in LMP level where receiver device can request to transmit more power (based on RSSI) but not sure how stack and application can use this.
