and hope that it works well or are there more complex steps?

Hello!

Nokia Java lib for MMS works only for Nokia MMSC. The interface is called EAIF. All other vendors has theit own interfaces. In the future Nokia and the other vendors may start to use MM7 interface specified by 3GPP. See 3GPP web site for additional information.
