Hi,
I recognized that the location.gsm_location() does not deliver a Cell ID in case the phone (N95, latest FW) is within a 3.5G network (showing network indicator 3.5G). If phone is in 3G, Edge or GSM connection everything is fine. Did I missed something or should that be ok? It is a little bit pity as the Cell ID wake up script ends in a 3.5G cell area. Thanks |

Yes, this is an issue ! It doesn't work with 3G's even. Everything is fine in GSM networks. Find old threads related to this topic : gsm_location() None Issue - the second [BUG] gsm_location fails (3rdEd+3G/UMTS-network) Best Regards, Croozeus |

Many thanks (for warm welcome and the feedback)
Sorry, I didn´t checked the bug reports (was just looking for some threads with 'location.gsm_location'). After intensive testing I´d like to confirm the description: - location.gsm_location() provides cell id information in 3G (but only in idle mode - can be easily catched by exception handling, but does not provide an updated cell id information) - works perfectly in GSM coverage (and I assume during Edge coverage, but that´s a little bit difficult for me to reproduce). BR, Dietmar |
