How can I get devVideo APIs?
Thanks, -Digish |

For 3rd ed FP2 they are included in the API plug-in: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/SDK_API_Plug-in

Thanks for the reply,
Can you tell me what to do to get these APIs for FP1 devices? Thanks, Digish |

Currently I think they are only available through API partnering. Anyway, as far as I know, from 3rd ed FP1 devices, only N93,N95 & E90 support the player API part.

Thanks for the reply yucca,
but I do not understand how these things are happening.... ![]() I mean if I say dev video API is supported for FP1 then it should be supported for all devices. i.e. N81,N82 etc. {I am concerned because I have these devices to test}. If I want to have it for these devices then isn't there any way around? If so how can I develope streaming video related APIs for these phones? Thanks, Digish |

Those APIs are not included in the public SDK for the reason, and one of the reasons is propably that because they are not supported by all devices...
If they would be included in public SDKs, then of course they should work with all devices. But, it is really understandable, that not all devices can support excatly same things, unless they would have excatly the same hardware & software configurations. |

Thanks yucca,
but the thing that you are telling is correct only if that is the case, and say for example that N81 is missing hardware to play video, than in that case it should not be able to play rtsp link via real palyer too. As finally that should have been internally implemented in some way that: Negotiate protocol and parameters Receive data from network Push it to some queue for decoder Decode it Draw on the screen. This is the basic requirement to play any streamed video. Now as N81 supports this thing, it internally supports those above defined steps. Now I want to have these things done which as far as I know, only available through, DevVideo APIs. Correct me if where I am wrong (this was my understanding) or any other options are there? I want to do so because I do not have RTSP server running but I want to have some pear to pear video streaming. Thanks for reading Expert, -Digish |
