Dear fiends
I need your advice: I will create a toolbox for image processing to be use on Symbian mobile. What is your opinion to create using python without include any c++ code as much as I can, or create C++ and extended to the python. My Application will be python.

if you want to create a image processing tool i think which have the functions like comparing images, removing noise from images or to say modifying the images. Some of these functionalities are possible in PyS60. But i will advisable to make good extensions in symbian C++ and then use them in PyS60. Dont forget to tell what you have chosen. ![]() ![]() Gargi Das- http://gargidas.blogsot.com Forum Nokia Python Wiki Learn Python at http://mobapps.org/PyS60 |

Dear friend
Thanks for your replay. I think I will start by pyS60, the main reasons that original toolbox which I like to create something similar is a Matlab toolbox; and the python is the nearest programming language to the Matlab, and I will make the C++ is my backup plant. I hope to find the support from my finds, and my first step was created a Digital Image Processing Toolbox for pyS60 on https://sourceforge.net/projects/digitalimagepro/ Big Note: the project is open for any one like to help in the developing, suggesting and in testing . |

hi msalamah82
its great that you are trying to develop an image processing tool using PyS60. Apart from this let me make you know that i am also very much interested in image processing and written successful algorithms using matlab. i will be very happy if i help you in completing this project. so if you need any help be it in matlab also just send a mail to me. best of luck ![]() ![]() Gargi Das- http://gargidas.blogsot.com Forum Nokia Python Wiki Learn Python at http://mobapps.org/PyS60 |

This sounds interesting and I wish you good luck with the implementation.
However, I think that using Python will be very slow. If anyone ever writes an extension (wrapper) for PyS60 3rd that takes an image as input, does something (or nothing) with it, and returns the image, I'd be fantastically interested in having a look at the source code. Has anyone done that successfully? |
