Hi,

I have an application that renders video (and audio) on S60 devices. For rendering video I have used DSA (CDirectScreenAccess and MDirectScreenAccess) APIs. The code has been compiled using S60 3rd Edition FP1 SDK for C++.

The application works fine on N95, N96, E66 etc. however, when tried on E90 there seems to be a problem with DSA. In DSA, when a window comes over the video window, DSA is aborted and restarted with different clipping region so that video does not overlap with the new window (coming over the video window). However, Sometimes (50% of the time) video overlaps the options menu (mapped to left softkey) of the application. It seems that the AbortNow and Restart APIs of the MDirectScreenAccess class is being called out of sync so that video is painted even after the Menu is painted completely. It is also interesting that video does not continue to paint over the Menu, just that it did not stop painting in time.

I am lost, as to why the mechanism fails on E90? Is it an SDK issue?

i don't know if i understood well what you have said, but try to use that application on the outer screen of your E90. the small screen with the same resolution as N95
