Hi
I need to know how to create good quality mobile 3gp greeting cards for a lesser file size. The size should not exceed 400kb for any video size. I tried varied means and converters but couldn't achieve the desired result. Kindly let me know if there is any way to achieve lesser file size without any reduction in video and audio quality. Thanks. Kind Regards, Anthony. www.avonmobility.com |

Hi,
do not expect high quality from 3GP format. It is designed for mobile phones not to achieve high quality, but to address bandwidth and space requirements. You cannot have smaller file with "any reduction in video and audio quality". Might be you can try to use flash, animated GIF or some else technology for your greeting cards.. Regards STeN |

Hi,
According to your 400kb limit you´re probably using MMS as a bearer for your cards? Well, as stenlik mentioned do not expect excellent quality from .3gp Encoding uncompressed video to a 3gp-container (or some other) is never lossless. What you can do is to improve quality with other methods. They're more video production than converter related. Improving quality can be done i.e. by: - cutting the video duration which allows higher frame and bitrates - objects in video should not move fast or not at all. motion decreases complexity in encoding -> higher bitrate needed |

Hi Guys!!
Thank you very much for your kind suggestions....If we increase the frames per second in there any chance of obtaining a better quality. What should be the ideal time duration for a video to have a good quality i reduced file size? Kind Regards, Anthony. |

Hi
Thanks for your kind reply. The document you had suggested was very useful. Also, the issue I have is I need to convert video to 3GP , mp4 and RM cards with a set of particular video codec, file size and audio bitrates etc. Most of the converters doesn't allow to input our own required frame rates, bit rates etc but they have their own built in default few options. Is there any converter which allows to fill in the required options? Kind Regards, Anthony. |
