I'm making a program in PureBASIC that reads the EXIF or JFIF metadata from JPEGs. I can direct it to a JPEG and if there is EXIF or JFIF metadata stored, the program will read it and return the string. I've achieved this by researching where the header data starts etc.
However, it doesn't work with images taken on my old mobile. This is a 6230i which I believe was a Series 40 model. I know for a fact that the date&time the photo was taken is definitely stored in the JPEG because Photoshop locates that info. (Interestingly, Windows Explorer doesn't!) From what I can gather, it's not EXIF or JFIF metadata, but it is metadata. Does anyone know what format the Series 40 phones used to store metadata? I'd be very grateful indeed for any help with this. Thanks for reading, Seymour. |
