Well, I though you could be interessted in that:

I wrote a small PyS60 app for my 6680 which monitors my gas usage by "looking" on the flame of the gas heating and calculates the duration and with that the amount of used gas over time. It makes the data then avaible over Bluetooth.

Thanks to all involved in PyS60 and the used modules and tools (lightblue, putools). See same with C++ would take a lot longer. Although there were a lot of weird (or without a good documentation) multi threading related issues.
