I have some questions about integration between pys60 and flash lite:
  1. do I need to run a local server to make python works with flash lite 1.1?
  2. is it possible to access all resources usually accessed with pys60 or is there some limitation?
  3. can i embed everything in just one application or do i need to run them separately?

thanks in advance..

Flash lite can communicate only over sockets, so localhost server is needed.

I recommend you to dircetly contact Flyer author regarding other questions.

Thanks. I would like to use flyer, but in system requirements it says "Flash lite player 2.1", and that's the main problem: 2.1 is still supported only by few phones.
I hope there was a way to do simple interaction between phone and flash lite 1.1 (write calendar, add vcard, and things like this..).
If not, i'll need to find other solutions.

Yes, XMLSocket class is only available in 2.1 onwards.

You need a local HTTP server implementation to respond to loadVariables() requests from Flash Lite for version 1.1. Double check that Flyer doesn't only need Flash Lite 2.1 for some functionality.

Have you checked to see if the functions you need are already provided by KuneriLite?

Or, as another Python language alternative, have you looked at SWF2Go? You need to buy a license for that but it might do what you need (haven't checked the XMLSocket issue there).

Hi,

Also, have you investigated S60ServerPython ?

It is a extensible framework write in Python language and runs locally in the device. This server gives access to the resources of S60 platform through HTTP-GET requests.

Personally, I haven't tried it but might be helpful.

Unfortunally there's no mac version of this, but I'll check on Windows if there is something interesting.

I'm trying this now. I'll let you know.
Thanks by now.
