Hello, I´m developing an app with Python for Symbian and I want to probe in the n95 emulator an app which needs to receive sms when it´s running. How can I send free sms to the emulator?
Thanks! |

Hi,
In the S60 3rd edition FP2 emulator's window there should be 3 menus: File, Tools and Help. Go to Tools->Utilities->Messaging and send an SMS from there. It should be similar on all emulators. |

Thank u, but I´ve become another problem: when I go there it sends a default sms but: how can I write one? Also, why doesn´t appear anything saying: You have a new message? I need that this new message produces an event. Thanks!

Hm... never tried on a 3rd FP1 emulator but I'll do it now and will edit this post with an update. In the meantime, see if this helps:
http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...ge_in_emulator EDIT: Yep, the problem is the JRE versions specified in that configuration file. I have 1.6.0 so I added 1.6,6.0 and it worked. In other words, that article describes the perfect solution ![]()

Thanx Bogdan,
Perfect solution, quick and easy patch Now I just have to figure out what to do with those tools, which I've happily missed so far. Diagnostics looks interesting, but possibility to send events just made me sad: so many events we can't catch within pys60 ![]() Cheers, --jouni |
