Hi,

I'm trying to use python on emulator but I'm receiving the folowing error when I run the python on emulator:

"Menu:
System Error (-1)"

I tried to install on three machines: one Vista Business, one XP Pro and one 2000 Pro.

Also, I tried the "All in one" SDK, the C++ SDK for S60 3rd Ed. FP2 and the C++ SDK for S60 3rd Ed. FP1.

I'm doing the following:

1) Download the SDK
2) Run the SDK for the first time
3) Download the PythonForS60_1_4_5_SDK_3rdEdFP1.zip from sf.net
4) Extract the zip on desktop
5) Extract the sdk_files.zip inside the first folder
6) Copy epoc32 folder to C:\Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1 to merge the folder contents with existent epoc32 folder.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Did you replace the default epoc32 folder? You're should not replace it!

Try again following this step-by-step tutorial

Rafael, I didn't overwrite the epoc32 folder. I merged the contents of these two folders.

Well, very weird then

Seems you are doing the correct process

Anyway, I would try reinstalling the SDK and following the tutorial I gave you in the previous post for installing the Python plug-in.

Hi,

I have the same problem. Emulator gives the "Menu: System Error (-1)" message when I try to start python on the emulator.

I just updated the PythonForS60 SDK package from version 1.4.3 to 1.4.5. I uninstalled the old one and extracted the sdk_files.zip like I have done many times before.

On the link PyS60 1.4.5 given in the sticky post click on PyS60 not on 1.4.5 !
Now you can find all previous version until 1.3.1 !

Yes, it works with 1.4.3 version. Very weird...

Anyaway, I'll use this 1.4.3 version, thanks!
