Hello,

Is there a way to capture an entered phone number that is about to be dialed? I want to be able to evaluate the entered phone number to determine if I want the phone to be able to dial it.

I don't think the dialer application discloses that information to other programs. There's no way to interface with the dialer from within Python, that's for sure.

Well,

You could have a keyboard logger application running at background, check what is the currently running focused application and with some logic find out when user is trying to dial a number. You could interrupt the keypress which would initiate the phone call and analyze backwards for possible phone number. So in theory it could be possible...

In practise I wouldn't put any time for such a project, there simply are too many problems. You can start a phone call by clicking on link in web browser, which naturally would totally be missed with any keyboard logger app. Also any keylogger would have to know that phone calls can be started from idle and contacts, by pressing green key or Options menu and would miss all 3rd party calling sw...

Summary: it's possible to do this with python, but not all-inclusive.
