Hi,

I've been searching for quite a while on an Python API that uses the infrared on the n95. If there isn't an api, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can use its functionality? I want to be able to receive and save infrared data.

I'm an absolute newbie, and this is my first S60Py app!

Louis

Hi Louis,

Unfortunately, that's not possible with the current PyS60 version

If you have any experience with symbian c++ than you can try it there. I think that it is possible with it.

Hmmm, since this hasn't been done before, I guess i'll just have to code it up myself.

I have no experience in developing for mobile devices at all, should be an interesting challenge.

If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to let me know. Otherwise, wish me luck.

Here are 2 articles that provide instructions for making extensions:
http://wiki.opensource.nokia.com/pro...ing_extensions
http://wiki.opensource.nokia.com/pro..._using_Carbide

And a document:

Good luck

I'm a novice developer, new to the Python. I desire to develop self-aware mobile-applications that allow fusion of both physical &digital environments(or worlds).
In the coming year i want to develop an S60 app. that has an AI as its core-engine while on the outside the UI is as simple as using an IPOD.(seriously! As simple as data !)
It converts people into data-forms ,enabling them to do so many things.
Like allowing people to interact real-time with their physical environment (via a superimposed virtual one) is one of the features the app.
Also use of Connectivity options like Bluetooth Piconet Networking ,WiFi , 3.5G for local or Wide peer-to-peer interaction,, Location Based Services, Social Network,Sensor Network features and a whole lot of other stuff.
And all the while the AI personality learns and adapts to the user;thus becoming a 'personal' companion (even though just codes).

I want to ask if Python60 or Symbian 3rd/5th Edition has an Artificial Intelligence API ?
