Is there a way to turn on/off S60 phone camera led flash programmatically?

Haven't seen the feature in public APIs, anyway, you could try Symbian C++ APIs, first see if CCamera would have the functionality, and if not, then you could check whether it could be found from Advanced Camera settings: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...d_Settings_API

I've been wanting to do the same thing as well but I can't find anything anywhere that works or any code. I'm beginning to think its not possible.

You could try API partnering, however, I am pretty sure that Nokia will not want to give it away as the LED on some handsets could not survive extended periods of on-ness (see the xda-developers on failing XPERIA X1's due to the LED melting the case plastics(!!!).

One thing which could work, however, is recording a video (on N96) - the device turns on the LED then.

hi to all, i'm very interested on this thread, i think the leds on the last nokia are pretty strong, the n79 flash can remain on during filming a video, i dont think they have problems to keep it on for a while..
