The fact that user has to have the python runtime installed means the user has 'some' basic understanding of the device's functionality. S60 phones dont come with pys60 by default. Not to mention user intervention required.
Guess we have to more careful with what we install. Though the malware could have been writing in java too. I wonder if the said malware is symbiansigned. Probably selfsigned.
The potential of pys60 never sieze to amaze me !

Well, every coin has 2 sides.

As said, it requires some user intervention and PyS60 runtime.

Not to forget, PyS60 is very powerful.

well, 50% of sf users has pys60 installed just coz of few apps, so, i think that pys60 team should add this notification to socket, urllib, telephone...to avoid this, and every poweruser who are bugging wht that can edit it and use it on standard way, right?

Technically, every language runnable on S60 is very powerful;just depend how much knowledge the programmer has/can use.
Flashlite,Java could have been used. PyS60,powerful, equally is easy, fast&flexible ;the perfect choice for any rogue programmer to write a malicious app.

Technicly, yes, but, java is handled wht permitions query's, flash dont have autorun and only python and c++ is powerfull enough to be harmfull, and, all parts of src code of this app can be found at this dibo, no need to be smart to do so...
