Hello forum,
is it possible to receive the original NMEA sentance from the build in GPS receiver? The positioning.position() - Module delivers only a part of the original NMEA sentence. The important "fix quality criteria" is missing. That means, that by just using the positioning-Module we are not able to notice if the signal we are looking at is valid or not. cheers novis |

I think the data we are getting using the positioning module is a processed kind of data. And i think its not actaully possible to get the actual scentence using the built in GPS. ![]() Enjoy Pythoning Gaba88 Gargi Das- http://gargidas.blogsot.com Forum Nokia Python Wiki Learn Python at http://mobapps.org/PyS60 |

The internal GPS device is delivering NMEA data. The formating is done by the positioning - Module.
So other modules deliver other formats. Before the positioning-Module was announced for Python 1.3.23 some smart person developed a module called "locationrequestor.pyd" I remember that this module deliveres pure NMEA. In this way it was much better than the later official announced positioning-Module. But I don't know how stable this module is (it's quite old now) and if someone is still developing and supporting it (and'll do it in the future). novis |
