Dear Friends,

I am working on j2me mobile application. I developed Mobile tracking system.
Now I want to set permissions to different users. Like if admin installed application on mobile then no one can delete that application in on any condition. No one to change setting on that application except admin. Please tell me this is possible on j2me application?
If possible, in which way i handle on that?

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK,there is not identification that gives you that installer is a simple use or he was a administrator. so I guess that you can not do this thing..

No workaround so far.

Thanks

Hi,

If you have username and password for authentication in your application which gets authenticated from Web Server then you can check if the user is admin or not. But you will need to develop Web Application for that too. Another thing that you have asked is that no one should be able to delete the application - this is not possible in J2ME. Mobile user has complete freedom to delete the application.

This is wrong. You will need to sign the midlet, you will also need to be an operator or a manufacturer. The IMEI (except in some very small and unusual cases) is never available to the normal Java ME programmer.
